Nikhil Roy and Rashami Desai to pair up for a special episode of CID
An upcoming two hour special episode of Sony Entertainment Television’s longest running show, CID (Fireworks Productions), will feature a case of human trafficking. It will air on 26 September.
To do justice to the thrilling episode, the very talented Nikhil Roy (last seen in Bhaskar Bharti) will essay the role of Hardik, the antagonist while the sensuous beauty Rashmi Desai (Uttaran fame) will essay Sakshi, the female protagonist.
Hardik will learn about Sakshi, a rich, hardworking social worker and a divorcee. He will get married to her not for love or lust but money. But things will take a nasty turn when Sakshi will discover about her husband running a human trafficking racket. She will fight against this heinous crime and the people involved with the help of CID team.
We contacted Rashmi who said, “This episodic is based on the power of being a woman and I am happy to be a part of it which brings out a social message.”
Nikhil added, “The episode will not only focus on the monstrous crime but will also put to light how women can fight back. I am looking forward to a good response from the viewers.”

Sargun Mehta in Bigg Boss 8?
This is quite surprising…indeed it is!!!
If sources are to be believed, the talented and beautiful Sargun Mehta (12/24 Karol Bagh, Phulwa, Balika Vadhu), is all set to become a participant in Bigg Boss season 8, India’s most controversial reality show airing on Colors and produced by Endemol India.
There is no doubt that Sargun is a popular television figure and her presence in the house will be an interesting watch for her fans and viewers in general.
With a tom boyish nature and a Delhi no nonsense attitude, how Sargun would react living in a difficult situation with strangers, would be a treat to witness.
Sargun is married to television actor Ravi Dubey, who is currently seen in Jamai Raja.
We did buzz Sargun for a confirmation but she remained unavailable.
Other TV actors who are said to be a part of this season of Bigg Boss are Gautam Gulati, Karishma Tanna and Praneet Bhat.
The show hosted by Salman Khan premieres on 21 September.
Bandhan's elephant loves chocolates
The telly world has a new entrant who loves to eat chocolates - it is not a kid or a woman, but an elephant.
A baby elephant, which is one of the main characters of Zee TV's new show “Bandhan … Saari Umar Humein Sang Rehna Hai”, not only loves to gorge on chocolates on the set, but also has his favourite brand.
“People will be surprised to learn that Ganesh (elephant) is extremely fond of chocolates and his favourite is Perk, so it is stored in bulk on our sets,” said actor Aditya Redij, who essays the role of a forest ranger in the show.
Shooting with an animal has loads of lighter moments and recounting one such experience, Aditya said:
“Once Ganesh and I were required for a sequence, but he would not stay in one place. So, the trainer told me to offer him a banana, I did that and the shot was successful.
"For the next shot, I gave him yet another banana and the shoot went well. Then, for the third shot, I hid the bananas. Ganesh walked over and gave me a nice little rap on the side with his trunk, almost like he were giving me a 'tapli' … this caught all of us completely off-guard and the entire unit burst out laughing.”
The weekend show is aired at 7 p.m.

Aamir Khan to take centerstage at MipCom
MipCom has announced that Indian actor-director-producer Aamir Khan will take to the stage for the inaugural MIP MegaSession, entitled ‘The Future of Factual.’
Organised by Reed MIDEM, the MipCom entertainment content tradeshow takes place in Cannes from 13 to 16 October.
Scheduled for 14 October, the first ever MIP MegaSession will gather leading players driving the next generation of online and linear factual programming on the main stage of the Grand Auditorium to discuss where the genre is heading.
Khan has starred in dozens of Hindi movies, including some of the highest-grossing Bollywood hits of all time. He is also a writer, director and producer, his credits including the colonial story 'Lagaan', which was nominated for a Best Foreign Language Film Oscar.
Since May 2012, Khan has fronted the Hindi talk show 'Satyamev Jayate' (Truth Alone Prevails), broadcast on the Star channels and the Doordarshan network. The show has had a deep impact on Indian society and its ruling classes, highlighting sensitive social issues such as female foeticide, rape, child sexual abuse, dowry customs, honour killings, domestic violence and wider environmental issues. 'Satyamev Jayate' has been watched by some 700 million people, and is also a major hit with online viewers and has a huge following on social media.
The third season of the show will soon go on air taking forward the philosophy that anything is possible ('Mumkin hai').
Khan will be in conversation with Oscar-nominated writer, director and producer Morgan Spurlock, when he will expand upon what drove him to produce the show under his banner, how it has struck such a resounding chord in India, and whether its format can be replicated in other countries.

Virender Sehwag in Har Ghar Kuch Kehta Hai Season 2
Har Ghar Kuch Kehta Hai Season 2 which airs on Sony Entertainment Television showcases never seen before journeys of some of the biggest celebrities in India.
The upcoming episode will feature one of India’s most talented cricketers, Virender Sehwag.
Sehwag, who born in a Jat family in Haryana, will take the viewers back to his family home and share his childhood memories. The otherwise shy and reticent batsman will be seen opening up about his family life and struggles during his growing-up years.
The episode will air this Sunday 21 September at 7.30pm.
Ashwini Kalsekar aka Mahamanga bids tearful goodbye to Jodha Akbar
It was an emotional moment on the sets of Zee TV’s historical drama Jodha Akbar (Balaji Telefilms), when Mahamanga played by the acting heavyweight Ashwini Kalsekar shot for her last sequence on the show. The current track of the show has Mahamanga behind bars after Jodha exposed her sinister designs and Akbar brutally and ruthlessly kills her son. Mahamanga has been seen reeling under the loss of her son and is consumed with sorrow. The show next week will see her health deteriorating further and the otherwise fierce and scheming matriarch succumbing to death.
In the show, before her death, Mahamanga expresses the desire to meet Akbar and being addressed as Ammi jaan one last time by him. Akbar obliges and she dies in his arms. Ashwini in real life is very close to Rajat Tokas (who plays Akbar on the show) and found the scene even more overwhelming to shoot as both knew in the heart of their hearts that this would perhaps be their last scene together on the sets of the show.
The sequence was shot without any glycerine used by any of the actors present on the set. The atmosphere was grim and Ashwini gave a touching performance leaving not just the cast but even the crew in tears. The entire crew was emotional about bidding farewell to one of the finest and most loved actors on the show and all of them were seen hugging her a goodbye on the last day.
Given that this was her parting shot, Ashwini was very particular in getting the sequence right and for it to come out as real and natural as possible. She in turn discussed and worked out every shot with the director using her expertise to give creative inputs to ensure a smooth flow. This led to the entire sequence being shot in one take without any cuts. The moment the director cut the shot, there was an uproar on the sets as the whole unit got up to give her a standing ovation for her last act.
Ashwini on her departure from the show said, ‘The crew had become my family. We all spent hours together on the sets. It was a very emotional moment for me as I had really got attached to the entire cast, the crew and even this beautiful set in Karjat. Mahamanga’s track has come to a natural end and I am content with the way the character was sketched and shaped up. I now look forward to some new beginnings.’
Paridhi Sharma, who plays Jodha said that she idolizes Ashwini for not just her exceptional acting abilities but also the way she conducts herself in person. She even went on to touch her feet post the wrap up.
The Jodha Akbar team gave Ashwini a warm farewell and hopes she will miss them as much as they will miss her!
I am 100 percent happy with my small role in Dawaat-e-Ishq -Karan Wahi
All those who are planning to watch Daawat-e-Ishq for Karan Wahi, brace yourselves for a big disappointment. The good looking actor has a minuscule role in the movie which is sure to leave many of his fans deeply disappointed. But Karan himself is anything but disappointed. The actor is more than happy with his Bollywood launch pad and says he knew what he was getting into right from the very beginning .
"Though I am present only for a bit in the movie, I am happy. When I had signed the movie, I was told my role would be a 15-20 min one. When you shoot, you end up shooting a lot and some things work on the edit table while others don't. Fortunately, not too many of my scenes have been edited out and at least 98 percent of whatever I had shot has been retained in the movie. I knew I wouldn't be getting the girl in the end but I had no complains then and none now. I am 100% happy with my small role," says Karan who has appeared in television shows like Remix, Dill Mill Gayye, Kuch Toh Log Kahenge.
Karan's delighted that his character in the movie plays a crucial role in delivering a message. "It's a love story with a message. The entire thought process was to show my character, Amjad redeeming himself in the end by understanding that dowry is a menace and ruckus. So if that message is delivered, I would feel it's a job well-done."
What's bringing more cheer is the reaction from his fans, all of whom have unequivocally expressed their disappointment at his short role. Says Karan, "My phone hasn't stopped ringing yet and all those who have watched the film have been saying that they wanted to see more of me. I consider that as a big compliment."
While Karan's cool with his not-so-big YRF debut, he is now keenly looking forward to UTV's Babbu Ki Jawani which will be his first solo lead movie. "I am fortunately playing Babbu in it. It's a nice romcom and we have finished shooting 80 percent of the movie and have plans to release it next year. I have also been signed on by UTV as their talent."
As for now, Karan's planning to watch the movie tonight with his industry friends and keeping his fingers crossed hoping that his pals would like both him and the movie.

Aryeman Bhatia was the 'first choice' to play king Vikramaditya in Singhasan Battisi
Sony Pal’s mythological, historical and fantasy based show Singhasan Battisi produced by Dheeraj Kumar and Zuby Kochhar has been impressing audiences with its enigmatic plotline.
But many are not aware that the lead role of king Vikramaditya, which is currently being portrayed by Karan Suchak (Star Plus’ Mahabharat fame), was first offered to Sahara One’s Ghar Aaja Pardesi actor Aryeman Bhatia.
Yes, the actor was almost finalized for the role but he could not take it up due to date issues.
Aryeman confirmed the fact “Yes, it is true that the character of Vikramaditya was offered to me first but then things did not fall into place. It is a very good show and I would love to work with Dheeraj sir in the future.”

Gadha Prasad's Yamraj avatar on SAB TV's Chidiya Ghar
Chidiya Ghar (Garima Productions) airing on SAB TV is the story of a fun-loving family comprising of different members with their unique mannerisms. As per their different names, all the members exhibit one unique trait that defines their personality and behavior.
Gadha Prasad played by Jitu Shivhare in the show is one of the most affable and comical characters. In the recent track, Gadha Prasad will take on the form of the Lord of Death – Yamraj! In an interesting sequence wherein Babuji would tell the simpleton that Yamraj looks like him and Chitragupta looks like Kapi, Gadha Prasad will fall asleep and in his dreams look upon the Lord of Death in his own form. Things will become fascinating when Gadha Prasad will ask for intelligence as a boon from Yamraj.
Jitu Shivhare who plays the role of Gadha Prasad said, “My character is a simpleton at heart and believes anything that’s told to him. Enacting the role of Yamraj was an interesting experience as I had to get into the imposing form of one of the most feared Gods from Hindu mythology. Even the entire change in look and costume set it apart from my regular appearance.”

Baa and Kartik to return to Sasural Simar Ka; to take Bharadwaj family under house arrest
The unit of Colors’ Sasural Simar Ka (Rashmi Sharma Productions) has set foot on a 10-12 days schedule in Hong Kong wherein the story will focus on the independent life of Simar (Dipika Samson). The lady will get herself a job, post which she will be seen getting into a new journey. Meanwhile, Prem (Dheeraj Dhoopar) along with Surbhi (Neetha Shetty) will also be staying at the same place in Hong Kong, creating room for Prem and Simar to meet often.
Meanwhile, back home, Siddhant (Manish Rainsinghani) would have gone on a trip to Jaipur when Baa (Minal Karpe) and Kartik (Preteek Shukla) will stage a comeback.
As per a source, they will break free from jail, and will enter the Bharadwaj house, and take the entire family under house arrest. And it will be for Sid, the sole member outside the house to save his entire family from falling prey to Baa and Kartik’s evil intentions.
When contacted, Prateek Shukla told us, “Yes, we will be getting back in Sasural Simar Ka. But I have no clue as to when it will happen.”
We hear that the Hong Kong track as well as the track back home will be played simultaneously.

Bravo: Indraneil Sengupta quits smoking
Hot as hell Indraneil Sengupta deserves a pat on the back. The Tumhari Paakhi actor has successfully managed to kill his smoking addiction and has kicked the butt.

He shunned the cancer sticks after letting it touch his lips for 13 long years.
“Initially I used to smoke a packet full of cigarettes then gradually I reduced it to six then four but I was never able to stop it completely. My wife Barkha (Bisht) kept telling me to quit but it never happened.”
So what made you finally quit? “On my last birthday I went to Singapore for some work. Over there smoking is prohibited in certain areas and I stayed three days without smoking. Then I thought to myself that I can actually live without smoking and from that time I haven’t touched cigarettes.”
How difficult was it to stop? “It was a bit difficult but I had promised myself to be nicotine free by 40.”
So do you see any changes in yourself? “I have always exercised and followed a proper regime but yes after quitting smoking I feel much clean and healthy.”

Shapath actor Kapil Arya to don a different avatar in Savdhan India
The good looking and talented Kapil Arya, who is currently seen playing Inspector Aditya in Life OK’s Shapath, will soon be seen in an episode of the channel’s heart wrenching crime based show, Savdhan India.
The episode to be produced by Somersault Productions will see Kapil in a grey shade who will indulge in an extra marital affair. The love triangle will soon lead to a crime. How things would change after that will form the crux of the story.
When we spoke to Kapil he said, “I am yet to start shooting but all I can say is that it’s a very interesting character and something very different from what people have seen me doing in Shapath.”
Ask why he took up the episode, the actor shared, “It has an exciting storyline and it doesn’t even require many dates so I thought I should give it a try. It’s always great to experience some change as an actor and I am looking forward to the episode.”

Pankhuri to get kidnapped in Star Plus' Pyaar Ka Dard...
The popular show Pyaar Ka Dard…Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara on Star Plus has brought in a mega twist with the return of Pankhuri (Disha Parmar). With a lot of secrets and past stories set to be revealed, viewers will get to see some action packed sequences in this Rajshri Productions’ show.
Firstly, the duo would try to kidnap Pankhuri by putting family members to sleep by using a sleep inducing spray.
But the plan will foil as Rubel (Khushwant Walia) will not be in his room. Soon the family will realise about Pankhuri’s life being at stake and will thus decide to shift her to a hospital to avoid any misfortune.
Shares a source, “The malicious duo will then intend to execute their plan in the hospital. Dressed as hospital staffs they will make an entry and pledge to fulfill their mission this time.”
Viewers will get to see how the two will manage to get hold of Pankhuri but the family will get alarmed before they would be able to whisk away Pankhuri. What would follow is a cat and mouse game between them and Pankhuri’s family.
So will they manage to take Pankhuri away or will she be saved from their deadly clutch?

Will Raghav and Sonia confess their love for each other in Ek Rishta Aisa Bhi?
The show with a different outlook, Ek Rishta Aisa Bhi (Shashi Sumeet Productions Pvt Ltd) has been receiving positive response for its content. The show on Sony Pal has good looking actors Rahul Sharma and Preeti Chaudhary playing the leads as Raghav and Sonia.
As seen so far, the two had decided to fake a relationship to make Sonia’s sisters happy about finding a ‘jija’ for themselves. But the plan had failed with the sisters getting to know about the reality. But having realised the attraction between the two, the sisters have been trying to get them hitched for real.
Shares a source, “The sisters having understood the under current love between the two will decide on making them confess it but do so in an interesting way.”
With the engagement drama being disclosed, the sisters will ask Raghav and Sonia to remove their engagement ring for good and part ways. This will shock the couple and they will be reluctant to do the same.

Three television actors are celebrating their birthdays today (19 September).
They are talented actress Jaya Bhattacharya (last seen in Madhubala), beautiful girl Meghna Naidu (Jodha Akbar) and comic actor Deven Bhojani (Baa Bahoo Aur Baby fame).
Firstly, we got in touch with Jaya who shared, “My birthday celebrations started since yesterday. I don’t have a real brother but my rakhi brother Siddharth gave me a beautiful surprise. He cooked chicken soup and mutton for me. Later he brought a cake and we had a small cake cutting ceremony. My few friends from the television industry paid me a surprise visit to wish me.”
She added, “But you know what my mom tells me every time on my birthday? She tells bohot galti ho gayi ki tu peda ho gayi… bohot tedi medi cheez hai tuh (laughs). But my mom loves me a lot and she gifted me a nice purse. I also received bouquets, cosmetics and a kurta.”
On this special day, any special wish you want to get fulfilled, “I think it’s high time I get some meaty and challenging roles to portray on screen.”
So how do you intend to spend your evening? “My brother and few other friends have planned to go out for dinner and just chill.”
Next, Meghna texted us from Bahrain stating: “I am working on my birthday. I am in Bahrain to perform. I cannot be happier to be doing my favourite thing on my birthday and that is being on the stage. I also cut a cake over here.”

Mona Ambegaonkar's dad passes away
Our heartfelt condolences to Mona Ambegaonkar’s family.
Mona, a veteran actress and recently seen in Rani Mukerji starrer Mardaani, lost her father yesterday morning (18 September).
Her dad was a retired pilot with the Indian Air Force. He was suffering from cancer and he breathed his last at the age of 80.
A very good friend of Mona, Jaya Bhattacharya confirmed the news and said, “Yes, it’s sad news and I was with her yesterday to console her. Mona is a good friend and I know she would need me in such a state.”

In the non-fiction space, Ashish, a non dancer, took the challenge of burning the dance floor in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa season 7 (Colors and BBC Worldwide).
He looked visibly uncomfortable in his initial performances, but with his hard work and hunger for triumph, Ashish came out of the cocoon and emerged as a beautiful dancer.
And folks, Ashish has gone on to win season 7 of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.
He impressed the judges and garnered maximum audience votes.
Out of the final four contestants, namely Mouni Roy, Karan Tacker and Shakti Mohan…and Ashish himself…the former three bit the dust.
There were high chances of Mouni clinching the winner trophy, but finally Ashish had the last laugh.
Family to surprise Suhani on her birthday in Star Plus' Suhani Si Ek Ladki
Star Plus’ show Suhani Si Ek Ladki (Panorama Productions) is slowing pepping up drama to engage audiences.
Viewers will soon get to see an interesting track with Suhani’s (Rajshri Rani) birthday knocking on the door. The girl who will be celebrating her first birthday in her in-laws’ house will be hoping to get a huge surprise from her husband Yuvraj (Sahil Mehta) but all her hopes will come dashing.
Yuvraj, instead of his wife’s, will be busy planning for his loved pet Snoopy’s birthday. But Suhani would mistake the preparations to be for her. And with nobody wishing her all day long, she will get upset.
Shares a source, “Yuvraj would forget Suhani’s birthday completely but the family will realise this folly just in time.”
The family will hurriedly arrange for decorations and plan a surprise party for Suhani. Everyone would be seen feeling happy and enjoying the party. But with Yuvraj not present, Suhani will be all lost.
